This morning I had a doctors appointment to see how the baby is doing and so far everything is going great. I got the hear the heartbeat for the second time, which is truly amazing. Even though I'm gaining weight (5 pounds so far) and my body is definitely changing, there are times when it doesn't really feel like I'm really pregnant. Especially since I now feel great, no more morning sickness or heartburn, it doesn't really feel real. But when you hear the heartbeat there is no denying it, there's a baby in there! I think I've felt some little movements but it's hard to tell if it's just my mind playing tricks on me or if it's real.
Other than baby stuff I've mostly been working on getting ready for school and crocheting. I have two baby showers for friends coming up and I am making blankets for each of them. I really enjoy crocheting because I can be creative and make something useful at the same time. I found a great pattern for a star shaped baby blanket (http://thekidneybean.wordpress.com/crochet-patterns/chromium-star-blanket/). I just finished one for a friend and am now starting one for myself. I have already made one blanket if the baby is a girl (we find out the gender on September 9th) and this star one is more boyish or gender neutral colors.
